
State Police Seek Dashcam Footage After Deadly I-87 Crash in Clifton Park
Deadly Multi-Vehicle Crash
State Police are investigating a deadly multi-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday night in the southbound lanes of I-87, just south of Exit 11 in Clifton Park.
According to a press release from the NYSP, Troopers were called to the scene around 8 pm on Sunday.
A preliminary investigation shows two vehicles were traveling south when one rear-ended the other, sending the struck vehicle off the left shoulder and into a guardrail. Moments later, that exact vehicle was hit by a third vehicle and came to rest against the guardrail facing north.

The Victim was Struck by Two Different Cars
The driver of the struck vehicle exited his car after the impact. State Police say he was then hit by a tractor-trailer, ending up in the driving lane, where he was struck again by another southbound vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and according to the State Police, his name has not yet been released pending identification and notification of family.
The tractor-trailer involved left the scene and has not been located.
Anyone With Dashcam Footage Asked to Come Forward
The investigation remains active, and State Police say they hope dashcam footage from passing drivers will reveal more about the sequence of events or help identify the tractor-trailer. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam video is asked to contact State Police Troop G Headquarters in Latham at 518-783-3211.
