
Faculty and Students at School in Saratoga County Get Wild Surprise
Have You Ever Spotted a Moose in New York?
I have never seen one in New York, but I'm always on the lookout. I'm just not outdoorsy enough to be so fortunate.
But some in New York have.
Some faculty members, staff, and students at a middle school in Saratoga County were treated to a wild surprise on Wednesday when a young wayward moose was seen running around their campus.

Wayward Moose Spotted at School in South Glens Falls
A Facebook post by the South Glens Falls School District shows multiple pictures of what appears to be a young moose galivanting around the middle school campus.
According to the timestamp on the photos, the meandering moose was out for an early jog; one of the photos was taken at 6:54 a.m., which is well before students show up for the day.

Unicorns of the ADKS
According to wildlife experts, moose are considered the unicorns of the Adirondacks. They are "awe-inspiring and highly sought after, but rarely seen."
The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation estimates that approximately 400-700 moose live in the Adirondacks. So, sightings are rare but not impossible if you know where to look, or, as in this case, get a little lucky.
