US News and World Report has released its annual list of the best places to live in the United States, and four Upstate New York cities landed in the top 30.

When it comes to living in New York, it is easy at times in day-to-day life to focus on the negatives. Cost of living is high and taxes are too. But when it comes down to it and you step back to take a look at our overall quality of life, there are some great places to call home throughout the state. US News and World Report is once again recognizing some of those places.

The news magazine has named its top 150 places to live in the United States for 2023, and once again several New York cities have ranked pretty high on the list - all within the top 30 nationwide! US News analyzed the most populated cities in the country and based their scores and rankings on how far your dollar goes, desirability, employment opportunities, and quality of life.

So who landed at #1 on this list? Green Bay, Wisconsin! But not too far behind are 4 amazing Upstate locales. Here are the 4 New York cities that scored high based on those 4 attributes above:

US News says Albany's proximity to the Adirondacks and Finger Lakes, it's lively downtown, and relatively low cost of living for a populated area are some of the factors that led to a #17 ranking nationwide.
