A Colonie Restaurant Exploding Wasn’t Enough To Keep Them Down
Restaurants close all the time, whether it's from low sales, poor hygiene, or just all-around bad luck. It's not every day, however, you see one close because of a literal explosion.
That was the unfortunate reality for one Colonie eatery, but even a tragedy of this scale couldn't keep them closed for long.
Explosion in Colonie
In April of 2024, Pad Thai Noodle in Colonie exploded. The explosion was caused by a buildup of natural gas, which combusted and completely levelled the restaurant. Luckily, there were no injuries, due to the building being unoccupied at the time of the explosion.
The remains of the building were demolished for safety, and plans were put in motion for a reopening as soon as possible. With the damage, however, it was unclear how soon they would be able to get back on their feet. Now, we have an answer.
Reopening Pad Thai Noodle
Now, just over a year later, Pad Thai Noodle is preparing for their triumphant return. In November 2024, just eight months after the explosion, construction began on their new building. Now, the restaurant is ready to reopen its doors to the Capital Region on Friday, October 3rd.
The location has stayed the same, at 113 Everett Road in Colonie, and they will continue their normal hours of operation from Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. With an overhauled menu including old favorites like Pad Thai, Sushi and Curry and new twists, the newly rebuild location is a must-visit for anyone in the area.
