Capital Region Restaurant Gains Global Recognition for Outstanding Wine Service
A Capital Region restaurant known for its exquisite menu and ambiance has received one of the most prestigious awards for its wine service. Now it has worldwide recognition.
Since 1961, Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards have been the sole program dedicated to restaurant wine service. Awards are given at three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence, and the Grand Award. This year, 2,150 restaurants earned the Award of Excellence. A Capital Region restaurant is one of those selected.
Scarlet Knife in Latham, has earned a prestigious spot in Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards, recognized with the Award of Excellence. This accolade celebrates restaurants worldwide for their outstanding wine service.
Scarlet Knife’s wine list, featuring 165 selections, has been recognized for its quality and alignment with the restaurant's farm-to-table cuisine. To earn the Award of Excellence, a restaurant’s wine list must offer at least 90 selections, showcasing quality producers and a good match to the menu in price and style.
Chef and co-owner Paul Dimm expressed his gratitude, saying,
It's truly an honor to receive the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator. Our goal has always been to offer our guests a great selection of wines that complement our menu. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and attention to detail that goes into crafting our wine list at Scarlet Knife.
Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher of Wine Spectator said,
The Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards program is all about restaurants that make wine a priority. I congratulate all 3,777 restaurants for their dedication to wine and exemplary wine lists.
