Capital Region foodies get ready for another exciting addition to the area. I'm talking about Shake Shack, which will officially open it Albany's Stuyvesant Plaza on August 6th, but we got to little sneak peak inside of the location and got the sample the food that everyone will get the chance to try this week.

This location is actually perfect. I've always loved Stuyvesant Plaza and the addition of this new restaurant is perfect. The outside patio has a great feel as you're enjoying one of their signature burgers and shakes.

The Food

Let's talk about the food. Now, despite this being our first Capital Region location for Shake Shack there is a good chance you're familiar with them. They're got several different styles, and sizes, or burgers to try. They also have a variety of chicken sandwiches and sides. For our meal we kept it simple. Give us what made you guys famous. So we went with the double Shack burger and it was absolutely amazing.

We rounded it out with some regular crinkle cut fries, which were nice and crispy. Perfectly salted and all. I also can't go into a Shake Shack without getting an actual shake. I went with the coffee shake, and I was not disappointed. Creamy coffee goodness was the perfect thing to pair with the savory burger.

Shake Shake was founded in New York City as a hot dog cart inside Madison Square Park in 2001. From there is grew into what you find today, and we are thrilled to welcome it to the Capital Region. It has been a long time coming.

The Capital Region's 10 Best Burgers [RANKED]

Ground beef patty, bun, toppings, and condiments. Sounds simple, right? Far from it! A perfect burger is an art form and just like a great painting, each brush stroke of ingredients is essential to the final product. The chef is the artist, and there are the best restaurants in the Capital Region for a burger masterpiece.
