Albany's wait for a delicious Chick-fil-A sandwich is almost over! The opening date is an early Christmas gift to the Capital Region.

If there was one fast food chain the Capital Region wanted more than anything it was Chick-fil-A. For so long we had the travel hours or go to the airport to get the famous chicken that we always heard about but now we have multiple locations. The newest location has finally set the opening date for it's Albany store.

The location on Central Avenue and Colvin Avenue will officially open on December 5th. Talk abotu Santa coming early.

You can count on some very heavy traffic in that area of Central Avenue, a spot that is already pretty high volume during morning and evening commutes. Just be prepared for long lines and long waits to get around that time.

We all remember when the Clifton Park and East Greenbush locations opened up, but once thing settled down it was a lot easier for everyone to manage.

I for one am very excited that the City of Albany is getting a restaurant that will bring not only some more variety to our area but also jobs.

Every time a new Chick-fil-A opens up the company donates $25,000 to Feeding America. That is a pretty noble cause.

So get ready to line up Capital Region and get ready to feast on some chicken. We've been patient and it is all about to pay off!

What's the next restaurant you'd like to see come to the Capital Region?
