Amazon Delivery Service Is Out of Control in the Capital Region
Do you use Amazon? The answer is likely yes. Everyone has used Amazon at one point or another even if you don't want to admit it. It makes getting a lot of items incredibly easy and your access to those items seems limitless, as long as they're stocked up. In the Capital Region we have multiple Amazon fulfillment centers, warehouses, and distribution sites. It has brought a lot of jobs to our area, which I will never knock. We need jobs, and people need to be able to earn a living.

What I do want to knock is the delivery drivers, particularly around the City of Albany. I'm sure there are issues in every city or town, but Albany is where I'm at. These drivers are blocking traffic, driving erratically, and just causing traffic chaos wherever they happen to be.

I know that everyone has a job to do, but are making sure the people being hired to do this 1) know how to drive a larger vehicle and 2) have no outstanding incidents or traffic violations that could make them a liability. Just last week I watched an Amazon delivery truck go across every lane on Washington Avenue to get to a side street cutting off multiple vehicles.
Yes, they have to make sure they're making they deliveries, and I am sure it is a rigorous schedule, but can we not block side streets? Can we maybe pull off somewhere that doesn't cause a traffic jam on both sides while you slowly walk from house to house? It's wild to see multiple Amazon trucks on one street, too. That just seems inefficient to me.
Listen, I know I'm complaining, bit it's getting out of hand and the closer we get to the holiday season to worst this is going to get. Amazon, can you please run your drivers through a safety course before that time of year to make everyone's life a little bit easier?
