Rob Manfred's dream has come true: the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers will play one another in the 2024 World Series.

This will be the 12th World Series matchup between Yankees and Dodgers, the most common postseason matchup of all-time, per ESPN Stats & Info. From 1941-81, the teams met each other 11 times for the championship, but amazingly enough, they haven't met in the Fall Classic since.

The baseball world will see Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani do battle for at least four games, and one "face of the sport" will emerge with their first career World Series victory in the process.

It's a momentous occasion for Major League Baseball, one that fans certainly want to witness in-person. That said, you'll probably have to take out a second mortgage in order to pay for a ticket.

It's a shame to see that prices are this exorbitantly high. The average fan, who has hung on every pitch and at-bat throughout the season, deserves to have the opportunity to see their favorite team play for a championship.
