How different does John Harbaugh run the Giants?
Our very own Rodger Wyland from Big Board Sports was at Giants training camp upon their return from Greenbrier, West Virginia this past week, and he noticed one thing right away, the trip this year was going to be a little different.
Immediately upon arrival there was about a 30 minute stretch where they had to wait in the car before being able to head over to the practice field. Then all the media personnel were led to the field , like a herd of cattle, and then were able to observe some of their practice.
It didn't take long before someone from the Giants came over and said no more filming. In fact, the news stations at training camp that day only had about 10 minutes with their cameras before they had to shut off, and they were not allowed to film any of the quarterbacks.
I completely get where coach Harbaugh is coming from, you want as much of your plans secret as possible. Especially with such a young team with growing expectations.
One thing about Harbaugh's practices that's clear is they are BRUTAL. 2 and a half hours of straight work and improvement. It was one of the first things I noticed about the team when videos came out of the beginning of training camp in West Virginia, those dudes look exhausted by the time practice is over.
Harbaugh is also not one to deal with mental mistakes. It's very apparent one of the focal points of training camp led by coach Harbaugh, is to limit things like penalties, turnovers, and small mistakes that lead to losses.
We still have to see how this translates on the field, but there's clearly some big changes coming to big blue in 2026.
