What Is The Deadliest Insect On Earth?

The deadliest creature on Earth is the mosquito. According to BBC Science Focus, "Mosquitoes are the most dangerous animal in the world, killing 725,000 humans per year through spreading diseases such as malaria. Only female mosquitoes bite, making them the most dangerous."

Mosquitoes are currently active and thriving in New York. Their season started in April and runs through October. There are no vaccines available for the viruses mosquitoes carry, which include the Zika virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus, and West Nile virus. Just last year, in September, the first New Yorker died from EEE since 2015. The case was confirmed in Ulster County.
