There is a movement to eliminate the sale of ATVs in the City of Buffalo.

As the summer starts, it is time to get outside and enjoy all that New York State has to offer! For many, that means hitting an ATV trail on a four wheeler, dirt bike or side by side.

Here in Western New York, there are some lawmakers who are fed up with illegal use of off-road vehicles within the city limits of New York State second largest city.

A Ban On The Sale Of ATVs in Buffalo, New York

For years, there has been an issue with people riding ATV in areas that they are not allowed to. For safety and for noise issues, there are laws where and when you can ride ATVs in New York State.

But according to reports, lawmakers want the sale from dealers and individuals to stop!

At this point, the state is clear as to the laws around ATVs including registration and age requirements and even the fact that you CAN'T ride an ATV at a certain angle to a road.

In a post that I did a few months back, I noted that New York State says:

When crossing a road or highway, the New York State DMV website indicates that, "you must cross at an angle of approximately 90 degrees, at a place where there are no obstructions to prevent a quick, safe crossing".

Be safe this summer and follow the trails and the laws.
